Cubase le 4 crashing code#

I jump to such conclusion as there is no Demo or Trial version of Cubase SX, 4 series.

I think testing an H2o, or Air Team version of SX3 is not a reliable comparison. and I apologize for jumping to conclusions. Sad how big companies can lose focus so easily and start to get trash out of their doors as flagship products. Gor for REAPER, don't even think about it. The Cubase SX3 I test was a sad cow, and when trying to use both cores on my machine it used to crash more than usual. Loads *fast*, doesn't hog the machine, uses both of my cores as it should. I am pretty new, granted, but I have produced 2 songs, it has taken me lots of hours and no crash at all.īut the main difference that simply made me dump any other host, be cubase, sonar or whatever, is performance. Yes, Cubase can crash somewhat easily, and Reaper simply does not crash for me. I tested Cubase a bit and I have some words to say. What sucks is that I have a working sytem right now, but I fear making it unstable by bumping up to the latest version- but I'm liking all the new features. But in mid- project I don't like doing that. I guess I can try and if it's a problem, revert back. They work well with the reaper version I'm at right now, but this isn't giving me confidence to bump up. This has me a bit concerned, as I use waves dx plugs as well.

Don't know why this would suddenly become a problem at this build-maybe new code that WAVES didn't like? I am sure that it is the WAVES plug-ins causing the problem-I have the DX version, not VST.

In any event, once I closed the error window the project completed loading although it would often lose settings for the WAVES plug-ins (Renaissance EQ and Ren Comp).

I quoted the error message in the forum and someone pointed out that the amount of memory usage the error window claimed was needed was over 5 GB or something like that. However, I noticed in the last build before 2.4 that REAPER was momentarily freezing when loading a project with WAVES plug-ins.
